With9.000 students and 3.300 employees, the University of Twente is the only campus university in the Netherlands; divided over six faculties we provide more than fifty educational programs. The University of Twente has a strong focus on personal development and talented researchers are given scope for carrying out pioneering research.

Our research is highly regarded at both the national and international levels and is accommodated within six very active research institutes. These focus on nanotechnology, information technology, biomedical technology and technical medicine, innovation & governance and geo-information science/earth observation. Twente’s research output and citation rates are well above the national average.

The research institutes combine scientific excellence with a sharp eye for knowledge valorization and social applications. They are highly successful in generating spin-off businesses.

There are five Faculties at the University of Twente, each Faculty is in turn organized into several departments: Behavioural, Management and Social Sciences (BMS); Engineering Technology (ET); Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS); Science and Technology (ST); and Faculty of Geo-information Sciences and Earth Observation (ITC).

The UTWENTE collaborates with Delft University of Technology, Eindhoven University of Technology and the Wageningen University and Research Centre under the umbrella of 4TU and is also a partner in the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU).
