Prof. Antti Kero
Prof. Antti Kero is internationally recognized researcher in the field of ground-based radio wave remote sensing methods and modelling related to the lower-ionospheric ionisation effects. The most used radio wave remote sensing methods include incoherent radars, riometers and HF heating experiment. Kero’s research combines radio wave methods and inversion techniques in order to quantify the ionisation and its chemical consequences. Kero has made a significant breakthrough in development of the spectral riometry technique and electron precipitation flux density inversion. There methods will be used in the proposed infrastructure. Kero is the PI of the KAIRA radio telescope and principal developer of the current SIC model.
In PITHIA-NRF Antti Kero contributes to all WPs with an allocation of 10% of full-time employment.
