Neethal Thomas

Neethal Thomas is a post-doctoral researcher at Sodankylä Geophysical Observatory. She has done her PhD studies at Indian Institute of Geomagnetism (IIG), India. Neethal has carried out research on various magnetospheric and ionospheric process such as substorm associated geomagnetic pulsations, geomagnetic storms and also quiet time ionospheric currents. She is an expert in analyzing various data sets on-board satellites and has good knowledge on magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling processes. Neethal has a postdoctoral work experience at Institute for Space Earth Environmental Research (ISEE), Nagoya University. At ISEE she collaborated with ERG/Arase satellite mission team members and has carried our research on plasmaspheric density irregularities using combined observations from Arase and RBSP satellites.

In PITHIA-NRF project, Neethal will support operations in the SGO node and is responsible for data handling. She contributes to WP3.
