Main tasks

BGD will be responsible for technical support of continuous operation of the Realistic Ionosphere (RION) service that includes components of specific interest to PITHIA-NRF project: (a) Ray tracing Through Realistic Ionosphere Explorer (RayTRIX), (b) tools for Digisonde data analysis, SAO Explorer and Drift Explorer, (c) algorithms for finding conjunctions of plasmaspheric plasma density profile from IMAGE mission and ionosondes of the Global Radio Ionosphere Observatory (GIRO), and (d)data quality evaluation criteria for the ionogram data.

RION activities are directly attributed to Task 4, registered in WP6 as a model provider, and most actively contribute to WP4 for the innovation platform development.
