Open Vacancy at INGV

INGV is looking for an expert to work in the "Machine learning applied to Space Weather forecasting" sector, preferably with experience but also a recent graduate, to be included in the INGV research activities and projects.

Institution: National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology

Activity: Development of an algorithm based on Machine Learning techniques capable of forecasting Large Scale Traveling Ionospheric Disturbances. to be carried out within the project "T-FORS - Traveling Ionospheric Disturbances Forecasting System", funded by the European Community, Horizon Europe.

Skills: Experience in data analysis and development of machine learning algorithms.

Qualification: Bachelor's Degree, Master's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent

Experience: preferential in the field of data science, recent graduates can also apply

Duration: 12 months, with the possibility of renewal

Net salary: approx. 2700 € monthly for 12 months/year

Place of work: Rome, Italy, via di Vigna Murata, 605 (Laurentina metro)

Type of contract: research grant, full time

On-site presence: to be agreed on the basis of project needs
