The PITHIA-NRF INGV team operates systems for monitoring ionospheric characteristics and ionospheric irregularities and develop models and algorithms to predict space weather impacts based on observations received from the ionosondes, GNSS TEC and scintillation monitors, GNSS receivers, All Sky Imagers, LEO satellites and spacecrafts at L1 vintage point, and on ancillary data of the atmospheric dynamics, magnetospheric and solar indices. 

The team operates the Rome and Gibilmanna ionosondes and operates two ionosondes in Bahia Blanca and San Miguel de Tucumán (Argentina) in collaboration with the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional (UTN), Facultad Regional Bahia Blanca, and the Universidad Nacional de Tucumán (UNT), Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Tecnología. 

The Team operates GNSS TEC and scintillation monitors in Italy, Svalbard, Antarctica, Greenland, Brazil, Kenya and will operate an All Sky Imager in Italy from late 2020 for TID detection. 

The INGV ionosonde parameters, ionograms, electron density profiles, ionospheric scintillation indices and TEC from high, mid, low latitudes are accessible through the eSWua database (eswuax.rm.ingv.it).
